A gallery dedicated to the only airworthy B-29 Superfortress "Fifi" was added to the site today. "Fifi" was shot at the Deer Valley Airport after a two week hunt across Arizona which was complicated by weather delaying her travels.
As I get caught up editing images from the first part of the year prior to the 2011 Reno Air Races in September, a gallery from February's Red Flag Exercise 11-03 was added today. Participants included Royal Air Force Tornados, Michigan Air National Guard A-10s, and US Navy EA-18G Growlers. The next Red Flag exercise will take place early 2012.
I added a gallery with images from the 2011 Wings Over Camarillo Airshow to the site today. This was the last summer airshow before I finish out the airshow season with 7 airshows in a 9 week stretch.
Good day shooting at the 2011 Wings Over Camarillo Airshow yesterday....great mix of classic aircraft. This was airshow number five for the year so far. Next on the schedule are the 2011 Reno Air Races and the 2011 NAS Oceana Airshow in September.
Had the privilege to fly a refueling mission on board a Travis AFB based 6th Air Refueling Squadron KC-10 Extender prior to the 2011 Travis AFB Air Expo. During the flight we refueled a C-17 Globemaster III and the Thunderbirds as they made the trip from Nellis AFB to Travis AFB for the show.
A gallery with images from the 2011 Travis AFB Air Expo was added today. I would like to thank the Travis AFB Public Affairs Office once again for their hospitality during my visit.
Oddly enough this is one of my favorite images from the 2011 Travis AFB Air Expo. I just happened to see this woman's outstretched hand among the crow of thousands as she tried to catch a glimpse of the Thunderbirds with her camera.
Thunderbird #8 Captain Kristin Hubbard signs an autograph during the Greater Bay Area Make a Wish Foundation's meet and greet with the Thunderbirds at the 2011 Travis AFB Air Expo.
A KC-10 Extender prepares to land as a C-17 Globemaster III prepares for another pass as part of the Travis AFB based airpower demo at the 2011 Travis AFB Air Expo.
Another one of the amazing Greater Bay Area Make a Wish Foundation youngsters I had the pleasure to meet with the Thunderbirds at the 2011 Travis AFB Air Expo was Alex. Here is Alex taking pictures of the Thunderbird Diamond.
After their practice show the day before the 2011 Travis AFB Air Expo the Thunderbirds met a number of the Greater Bay Area Make a Wish Foundation's children. Being able to photograph this event was a special honor for me. An amazing young lady named Ruby brought her stuffed pony and had it autographed by the entire Thunderbirds team...this is Ruby's pony in the cockpit of Thunderbird #1.
I would like to thank the Travis AFB Public Affairs Office for making the 2011 Travis AFB Air Expo an awesome experience. Their outstanding hospitality and professionalism was truly appreciated over the four days I was on base. Images forthcoming.
